Wet cardboard can trap snails

by Helen
(US)

Hi there,
Love your page on all these great and safe ways to get rid of the snails. My sister uses this method and is very happy with it.

She gets some old cardboard and gives it a good soak in water then lays it out near the area she wants to protect from the snails. They go there in the daytime to get away from the sun and heat and maybe for a sleep - who knows.

I was there one day when she lifted the cardboard and I could not believe how many snails were underneath. She loves this method as they have chickens and she gives them the snails - they seem to love it.

Hope this helps as it certainly works for my sister.
