Hi, I just love the idea of growing your own snails. What an inexpensive way to get some delicious food and also impress friends and family.
Has anyone ever sold them onto a restaurant at all? I wondered if this might be a nice and easy way to make some extra cash to help out.

I like eat Escargots too, but there are only frozen , dried or canned for sales in martkets, none were alive. One evernig, i watch a TV shows: Brazzar Foods and Wild within, the Hosts show they pick live garden snails from along side roads at Golden Gate Bridge in San Francicso, the Chief pick them and clean them up and serve them to their guests. the other just cook right on the spot. umm umm good.
Learned from them, now i knew these creatures are atable. so i pick some up during the rainning evernings, i raise them at my back yard.They doing fine.Hope some day, me too have alittle snail farm at my backyard.

Searching For Snails in USA??? by: Kristin
I have been searching everywhere for any type of edible snails. I could eat these delicious creatures everyday, but am having a very hard time finding them anywhere. Is there a place that sells bulk (100 or more) frozen bags of snails to the public? Is there a way to obtain live snails so that I can farm them myself for my own personal consumption? Please help!!!

Local Pet Store
To find live snails on the commercial market I suggest you make contact with your local Pet Store. They sell all types of animals, insects and mammals. If they don't stock live snails themselves they would have some idea of where you could get some I expect.
Aquarium Snails
I do know snails are very popular with people who have aquariums as they use them to clean the inside of fish tanks. If they are not suitable then ask if they know where you could get some land snails.
Your local zoo has heaps of information
The other idea I had was to make contact with your local zoo and ask them as they would buy snails to feed some of their animals.
Catch some yourselves
PLUS you can catch some yourselves. The wet cardboard idea here on the site will attract some for you. Just follow the instructions and see how you go.
