Backyard vegetable garden

backyard vegetable garden

I had a small patch of square land approximately 15 feet by 15 feet in my backyard and I decided to grow a vegetable garden.

Growing from seeds
I grew cauliflower, peas and tomatoes. First I purchased fresh good quality seeds from a store and sowed them in a small patch in a corner. The seeds were covered and watered daily.

Use creepers to shade other plants
Once the plants reached a height of 15 cm, I transferred them into different rows. As the peas are creepers I gave sufficient support to them with a small nearby fence. The peas also gave sufficient shade to the cauliflowers.

So I grew a mix of cauliflower, tomatoes and peas in my garden. The ripe red tomatoes were the most appealing in a white and green bed.
