What is Raised Bed Gardening?

These are great for raised bed vegetable gardening and flower gardens. You can have them any shape imaginable, you can make them yourself or purchase a raised bed garden kit commercially –whatever suits you.

The idea is to raise the garden bed above the actual soil level – this saves your back from heavy work, eases drainage problems, helps reduce pests such as snails, allows for a longer growing time and stops any soil compaction as you never have to walk over the actual garden.
